My name is Niall O'Farrell, and I am based in Ballinhassig, County Cork, the south of Ireland. I first became interested in photography well over twenty years ago; back then, I was mostly interested in travel photography. In 2004, I purchased my first film camera SLR and started getting into slide film photography and photo editing. Then, in 2006, I moved to my first DLSL, at the time, it was just a nice hobby, and I liked to capture nice scenes or events. There was a time when I looked for the perfect sky, the nice mountain and put everything together to make a great image, but over the last few years that all changed where I pushed myself to forget editing and find this great shot. This challenge pushed me to really improve my camera skills, and it also led to a change in my photography style.
Since 2020, my photography has moved primarily to wildlife and nature photography. I get an extra special feeling when I am outside in the world surrounded by natural, beautiful creations, whether it be the impressive Landscape features or the amazing nature and wildlife ecosystem that exists all around us.
To me, pressing the shutter button on a camera is captures a moment in time and freezes it for an eternity.
